Independent School District GFW Public Schools July 15th, 2019 Summary of regular school board meeting. Full text is available for public inspection at the GFW Superintendent’s Office. The regular board meeting of the GFW School Board was held on July 15, 2019 at the Fairfax Intermediate School, Chair, Phil Klenk called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm.. ALSO present: Superintendent Seifert, parent, Odegard, Lee, Vos, Klenk, press, Haas, Kuehn Absent: None Klenk moved with support from Kuehn to approve the agenda with the removal of Greg Johnson’s contract and addition of Mark Leitheiser as cross country coach to the consent agenda and a change to the adult lunch price to $4.20 in the pay rate/stipend schedule . Motion Carried. VISITOR RECOGNITION – None CONSENT AGENDA Vos moved with support from Lee to approve the following consent agenda items with the removal of Greg Johnson’s contract and addition of Mark Leitheiser as cross country coach. Motion Carried. Approve Minutes of the regular board meeting of June 17, 2019. Approve Minutes of the special board meeting of June 27. 2019. Approve the disbursements in the amount of $686,691.07 Finance Reports Approve the hire of: Tiede Erickson, 7-12 Science Teacher BA15/Step 9 Beginning August 20, 2019 Mark Leitheiser, Cross Country Coach Approve the resignations of: Tricia Westphal, Literacy Coach, Q-Comp Leadership, Coach Approve the leaves of: None Approve Administrative Contracts of: Julie Elmer, 3.1% over two years Approve the transfers of : None Approve the donations of: None ACTION ITEMS Student Handbook Kuehn moved with support from Vos to approve the changes with additional changes, transportation page 13, status of referral, class II; 4th offense – administrators discretion up to including no bus privileges and attendance policy page 10, maximum absence policy (excused and unexcused) add after – after 10 absences, excused and unexcused,will require a Dr. note… Motion Carried. Activity Handbook Odegard moved with support from Haas to approve the changes in the activity handbook with possible additional changes to be added from the board in the future. Motion Carried. Resolution Regarding Board Control of Extracurricular Activities Kuehn moved with support from Haas to accept the legislative change that the school board take charge and control of all extracurricular activities to ensure revenue raised for extracurricular activities is only spent on extracurricular activities. Yes – Vos, Haas, Klenk, Kuehn, Odegard, Lee No – None Motion Carried. FY2021 LTFM Ten Year Revenue Projection Klenk moved with support from Lee to approve the FY2021 Long Term Facility Maintenance Ten Year Revenue Projection. Motion Carried. FY2021 LTFM Ten Year Expenditure Plan Application Klenk moved with support from Vos to approve the FY2021 Long Term Facility Maintenance Ten Year Expenditure Plan Application. Motion Carried. Milk/Juice and Fuel Bid Odegard moved with support from Kuehn to approve Dean Foods for the FY20 milk bid. Motion Carried. Kuehn moved with support from Haas to approve Central Region Cooperative (CRC) for the FY20 gas and diesel bid. Motion Carried. Pay Rate and Stipend Schedule Vos moved with support from Lee to approve the pay rates/stipend schedule with the adult lunch being at $4.20. Motion Carried. FSA and HSA Adoption Agreements and Flexible Benefits Plan Policies Vos moved with support from Lee to approve the FSA and HSA Adoption Agreements and Flexible Benefits Plan Policies. Motion Carried. Hinton, Decedent Phillip Hinton (“Petitioner”) has filed a Petition for Determination of Descent.
