Proposed reductions to budget would slash levy increase by more than 10 percent

The 14 percent levy increase that was the result of the preliminary budget passed by the Winthrop City Council looked like a pretty big number which it was.

The net result of the proposed changes dropped the levy amount to $749,985 which would only be a 3.42 percent increase from the previous year.
