CITY OF WINTHROP ORDINANCE NUMBER 2016-109 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 701.07 OF THE WINTHROP CITY CODE REGARDING WINTER PARKING REGULATIONS The City Council of the City of Winthrop Ordains: Section 701.07 of the Winthrop City Code is hereby amended to read as follows: 701.07 Winter Parking Regulations. Subdivision 1. Winter Parking. No person shall stop, stand, or park any vehicle or permit it to stand on any street so as to obstruct the removal of snow from streets during snow removal operations. The City will plow all streets after a 1 inch or greater snowfall. Any vehicles parked on residential streets must be moved within 12 hours once the street has been plowed. Vehicles may not be parked in downtown signed locations after 2 am when there is a snowfall of 1 inch or more. Violators of the above regulations will be ticketed and/or have their vehicle towed at their own expense. The regulations remain in place until the street is plowed. The following streets will be windrowed: Main Street from 5th Street to the Railroad Tracks Carver Street from 4th Street to 1st Street Renville Street from 2nd Street to the Railroad Tracks Nicollet Street from 2nd Street to 1st Street 3rd Street from Main Street to Hennepin Street 2nd Street from County Road 33 to Hennepin Street 1st Street from Nicollet to Hennepin All other streets will be plowed curb to curb. Alleys will be plowed once all other streets are cleared. Subdivision 2. Snowbirds. No person shall stop, stand, or park any vehicle upon any public street of the City of Winthrop after 12:01 a.m. following any day when such street was plowed for snow and which vehicle was plowed around and has not been removed from its location, or which has been reparked at a location which has not been plowed to the curb and which prevents plowing said street fully to the curb or as close to the curb as possible. This ordinance becomes effective from and after its passage and publication. Passed by the City Council of the City of Winthrop this 7th day of March, 2016.
