Independent School District  GFW Public Schools November 18th, 2019 Summary of regular school board meeting. Full text is available for public inspection at the GFW Superintendent’s Office. The regular board meeting of the GFW School Board was held on November 18, 2019 at the Winthrop Jr./Sr. High School Board Chair, Klenk called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. ALSO present: Superintendent Seifert, Klenk, Lee, Vos, Odegard, Staff, parents, press, community members, Kuehn Absent: Haas Lee moved with support from Vos to approve the agenda with the addition of a termination and removal of hire to the consent agenda. Motion Carried. VISITOR RECOGNITION – None CONSENT AGENDA Vos moved with support from Kuehn to approve the following consent agenda with the addition of termination of Tammy Davey and removal of hire Valerie Velasquez. Motion Carried. Approve Minutes of the regular board meeting of October 21, 2019. Approve Minutes of Special Board Meeting Minutes of November 8, 2019. Approve the disbursements in the amount of $570,374.16 Finance Reports Approve the hire of: Katie Sellner, 8.0 hour, Jr./Sr. High School paraprofessional Valerie Velasquez, 8.0 hour, Jr./Sr. High School Paraprofessional Approve the resignations of: Mark Leitheiser, Head Cross-Country Coach Individual Contracts: Danielle Ahlbrecht, T-Bird CLub Program Coordinator 19-21, 3.08 increase over two years Approve the leaves of: Jennifer Schaufler, Primary Teacher, LOA January 8, 2020 for twelve weeks Mary Jo Boehning, SPED Teacher, LOA October 21, 2019 for six weeks Approve the transfers of: None Approve termination of: Tammy Davey, Primary School Paraprofessional, as of today November 18, 2019 Approve the donations of: Minnwest Bank, $130.00 towards the food service Angel Fund ACTION ITEMS State Farm Bank Signature Authorization Klenk moved with support from Odegard to approve Amy Burns, Lindsey Heine and Lonnie Seifert signers for State Farm Bank. Motion Carried. Athletic Promotion Policy Odegard moved with support from Lee to accept the Athletic Promotion Policy as written. Motion Carried. Trap Team Student Account Kuehn moved with support from Odegard to approve the closing of the trap teams student activity account and transfer the balance to their account. Motion Carried. Bus Drivers Association Master Agreement Vos moved with support from Odegard to accept the Master agreement between the Bus Driver Association and GFW for a 3.04% salary increase over the next two years and language changes. Motion Carried. Greater Minnesota Bus Grant Tabled until work session in December. Wait until after the finance committee meets. Superintendent Goals Vos moved with support from Lee to accept the review of Superintendent Seifert’s past years goals and goals for next year. Motion Carried. Resolution for Curriculum, Program and Staff Adjustments for 20-21 Vos moved with support from Kuehn to approve directing Superintendent Seifert to make recommendations for reductions in curriculum, programs and staffing for the 2020-21 school year. In Favor: Klenk, Lee, Vos, Odegard, Kuehn Against Same: None Motion Carried. Resolution Establishing Combined Polling Places for 2020 School District Special Elections Odegard moved with support from Vos to approve the combined polling places for 2020 as written. In Favor: Klenk, Lee, Vos, Odegard, Kuehn Against Same: None Motion Carried. Work Session Date Vos moved with support from Lee to set the date of Tuesday, December 3rd 6:30 in Gibbon for a work session. School future, Schools bus Motion Carried. Looby Court File No. 72-PR-19-53 Re: Estate of Della Justine-Lydia Larson, Decedent NOTICE OF INFORMAL PROBATE OF WILL AND APPOINTMENT OF PERSONAL REPRESENTATIVE AND NOTICE TO CREDITORS Notice is given that an Application for Informal Probate of the Decedent’s Will dated December 4, 2012, has been filed with the Registrar. The Application has been granted. Notice is also given that the Registrar has informally appointed Laurie J. Larson and Lisa Anna Mae Uecker, whose addresses are: 28738 – 591st Ave, Winthrop, MN 55396, and 1020 7th St. E., Gaylord, MN 55334, as Co-Personal Representative of the Estate of the Decedent. Any heir, devisee, or other interested person may be entitled to appointment as Personal Representative or may object to the appointment of the Personal Representative. Unless objections are filed with the Court (pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 524.3-607) and the Court otherwise orders, the Co-Personal Representatives have full power to administer the Estate including, after 30 days from the date of issuance of Letters, the power to sell, encumber, lease or distribute real estate. Any objections to the probate of the Will or appointment of the Personal Representative must be filed with this Court and will be heard by the Court after the filing of an appropriate petition and proper notice of Hearing. Notice is also given that (subject to Minn. Stat. § 524.3-801) all creditors having claims against the Estate are required to present the claims to the Personal Representative or to the Court Administrator within four months after the date of this Notice or the claims will be barred.
