Paul Roberts
Paul Roberts, age 63 of rural New Ulm died peacefully on Thursday, January 9, 2020, at this home with his daughter by his side. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2020, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-South Chapel in New Ulm. Pastor Penny Johnson will officiate, and burial will take place in the Cambria Cemetery in the afternoon. A luncheon will be held at the funeral home immediately following the service. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday and continue from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-South Chapel in New Ulm. To leave an online condolence for his family, or to sign the guestbook, go to: mvfh.org Paul is survived by his daughters, Chelsea (Adam Leske) Roberts of New Ulm, Danielle (Kyle Swinford) Roberts of Cambria Township; his grandchildren, Alek, Addison, and Axton; his mother, Peggy Roberts of New Ulm; and his sister, Cleo Roberts of Hemet, California. He was preceded in death by his father, Eldred “Barry” Roberts; sister, Cheryl Schnobrich; and brother, Ronald Roberts. Paul Warren Roberts was born February 21, 1956, in New Ulm to Eldred “Barry” and Peggy (Peterson) Roberts. He attended school at the New Ulm Public High School. Together with Sandra Rieger, their lives were blessed with two daughters which he helped raise in rural New Ulm. Paul worked his entire life as a dedicated soybean and corn crop farmer. As a social man, Paul could be often times be found with friends at his favorite local establishment, Mowan’s Bar. He was also a loyal fan of Minnesota sports, and loved cheering for the Vikings and Twins. To relax, Paul loved spending time outdoors chopping wood and taking his grandkids sledding and on bike rides. Many wonderful memories were made over the years on family vacations. His children and grandchildren will never forget getting to ride in the combine with him, and all the time spent cleaning up the debris of the 1998 tornado. His daughters and grandchildren truly meant everything in the world to him. He took tremendous pride in his family and everything they did.
