At a special meeting the GFW School Board passed the Statutory Operating Debt (SOD) three-year plan. The meeting was held in Gibbon on Tuesday, January 28 and the SOD plan had to be submitted by January 31st. The three-year budget for reducing the school’s deficit had to include several assumptions on the revenue side and Superintendent Lonnie Seifert stated that this was the worse case scenario. Declining enrollment would be one of the main drops in revenue with the plan calling for a 2.5 percent decline the first year and then projecting a two percent decline the second and third year.
