Judith (Judy) Hansch

Judy Hansch, age 81, of rural Gaylord, passed away Monday, March 2, 2020, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Winthrop. Funeral arrangements were with the Cremation Society of Minnesota. Judith Ann Hansch was born September 27, 1938 in Gaylord. She was the daughter of Henry and Emilie (Traudt) Hansch. Judy was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth, both at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord. She attended Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School and Gaylord High School, graduating with the class of 1956, as Valedictorian. Judy was employed as secretary for the law firm of Williamson and Bull in Gaylord and later for many years at the Social Services Department of Sibley County. After her father’s health worsened with the onset of Parkinson’s, Judy became his at home care giver until Henry passed away in 1994. She enjoyed living on the family farm and did so most of her life, and was always glad to see friends, neighbors and family members stop by to share coffee and visit. Judy is survived by her brother, Ron and his wife Denise, of Wadena; a cousin, Galen of Mankato, and by many relatives and friends. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Emilie Hansch. Her family and friends extend their heartfelt appreciation to all of the staff at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home for the wonderful care given to Judy during her stay.
