Obituaries Rozella Pagel

Rozella Pagel, age 86, of Winthrop passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at Oak Terrace Health Care Center in Gaylord. A private family burial was held at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Bismarck Township, Sibley County, Minnesota. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Clergy officiating Pastor Erik Karlson. Rozella is survived by her children, Carolyn (Keith) Gilland, LaCinda (Anthony) Seidenkranz, Delayne (Kaylene) Pagel, Lila (Steven) Mueller, and LaNae (Benjamin) Schmidt; 14 Grandchildren; 2 Step-Grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren. her sisters, Marian Frauendienst, and Ruth (Kenneth) Terlinden; her sister-in-law, Lois Pagel; her aunt, Edna Rettig, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rozella was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis, parents, Emil and Margaret (Bartels) Draeger; parents-in-law, Leo and Ella (Grochow) Pagel; brothers-in-law, Virgil Frauendienst and Roger Pagel. Rozella Mae (Draeger) Pagel was born on December 13, 1933, in Penn Township, McLeod County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Emil and Margaret (Bartels) Draeger. Rozella was baptized as an infant on December 31, 1933, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 25, 1948, both at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Penn Township. She attended country school District 7 through 8th grade in Penn Township, and graduated from Brownton High School, Brownton, Minnesota on June 1, 1951. On November 28, 1952, Rozella was united in marriage to Dennis Pagel at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Penn Township, McLeod County, Minnesota. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Bismarck Township. She was a loving mother and homemaker. Rozella and Dennis shared 57 years of marriage when he passed away on March 7, 2010. They were blessed with five children. Rozella was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bismarck Township. She was a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Ladies Aid, and anniversary committee. Rozella loved traveling to Germany with Dennis and friends. She loved cooking, especially making rice for her grandchildren on family gatherings. Spending time with her children brought joy into her life. As the years went by, her joy was increased as grandchildren and great-grandchildren became part of her family. Rozella passed away at the Oak Terrace Health Care Center in Gaylord on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at the age of 86 years. She will be missed, blessed be her memory.
