Winthrop Golf Club is open

It was a busy weekend at Winthrop Golf Club as the course was able to open thanks to Gov. Tim Walz expanding allowable outdoor recreational activities which went into effect on Saturday at 5 a.m. In addition to golf courses and driving ranges, others allowed to reopen or remain open were public and private parks and trails, marina services, dock installation and other lake services, boat and off-highway vehicle sales and repair by appointment only, bait shops for live bait and outdoor shooting ranges and game farms. Campgrounds and dispersed camping, outdoor recreational equipment rental, charter boats, launches and guided fishing remain closed.
