Memorial Day 2020

It was a bit different than in years past but the meaning is the same as the Winthrop Honor Guard traveled to area cemeteries to honor those men and women of the military who are no longer with us. Crowds usually pack the cemeteries for the program but only a few were on hand this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A brief ceremony was conducted by the Honor Guard which included the raising of the American flag, a prayer, 21-gun salute and the playing of “Taps.”
