City to send letter to Governor

The Winthrop City Council authorized City Administrator Jenny Palmer and Mayor Kelly Pierson to send a letter to Governor Tim Walz requesting that businesses be opened in Winthrop and around the state. Included in the letter is also a request that restaurants and bars be allowed to serve customers inside their facility at 25 percent capacity. This action followed a discussion in which Alderman Rob Edwards proposed a resolution declaring that Winthrop is a constitutional and business-friendly community.
