A purchase agreement was approved on January 6th between Dave & Terry Theis and the City of Gibbon. Theis will purchase 1.72 acres along Eighth Street just south of the Gibbon softball field to build a new home. One problem with the property was that a storm sewer ran diagonally across the lot. While the house will not have a basement, neither the City or Theis wanted to build over the line. The City decided to abandoned that tile line and run a new line on the south edge of the property. Theis agreed to pay half the cost of that project and will pay for a soil boring test of the property. The only cost to the City is half of the new storm sewer. The property sold for $17,200.00.
