Independent School District GFW Public Schools December 21st, 2020 The regular board meeting of the GFW School Board was held on December 21, 2020 at the Elementary School Gibbon, MN. Board Chair, Klenk called the meeting to order at 6:36 pm. ALSO present: Superintendent Horton, Lee, Klenk, Kuehn, Vos, Bonsack, Press, Werner, Staff, Haas, Community Member, Music Fan Chair, Blumhoefer via zoom Absent: None Kuehn moved with support from Vos to approve the agenda with the correction, under the consentagenda, from November 18th to December 18th as Katie Sellner’s last day. Resolution: Donations Kuehn moved with support from Haas to accept the donations given by H & R Block, Kelly Dalton, $100.00 for the T-Bird Club, Jane & John Lebens, $500.00 for scholarships and the 3M Foundation, $1000.00 for the high school. Independent School District GFW Public Schools December 30, 2020 The special board meeting of the GFW School Board was held on December 30, 2020 via Zoom and live streamed on GFW Facebook. Chairperson Klenk called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. Also present: Superintendent Horton, Klenk, Lee, Vos, Kuehn, Haas, Student Member Peterson, Werner, press, staff, community members. Absent: None Vos moved with support from Lee to approve the agenda. Yes – Lee, Kuehn, Vos, Haas, Klenk No – None Motion Carried. Thank you Member Vos and Member Klenk for your years of service on the school board. GFW LEARNING MODEL Haas moved with support from Kuehn to have the 11th of January as coming back to full school and the 8th is a full day off of school. Yes – Klenk, Kuehn, Haas, Lee, Vos No – None Motion Carried. SCHOOL BOARD MEETING SCHEDULE AND LOCATION FOR 2021 Kuehn moved with support from Lee for the calendar year 2021 we hold all of our school board meetings virtual and in person in the Gibbon location with the dates and times provided in our December packet. Board Vice Chair Kuehn, called the meeting to order at 6:37 pm. ALSO present: Superintendent Horton, Kuehn, Schmidt, Merkel, Prochniack, Werner, Hanson, Press, Bonsack, Press, Haas, Lee Absent: None SET NEW BOARD MEMBERS Ceremonial Oath of Office; Dan Merkel, Drew Schmidt, Casey Prochniak and Jason Haas Haas moved with support from Lee to approve the agenda. Motion Carried. ELECTION OF OFFICERS Chair – nomination Mike Kuehn, candidate is elected. Vice Chair – nomination Jason Haas, candidate is elected. Designate GFW School District Newspaper Haas moved with support from Lee to designate the Fairfax Standard Gazette and the Winthrop News as the 2021 GFW School District Official Newspapers. Motion carried.
