Helping others learn is rewarding for those receiving the tutoring and those who are assisting the learning as well. A few students at GFW High School have been helping students who use English as a second language with their math skills. Cari Panitzke coordinated the effort to match senior students with those needing assistance.. “They got recruited because their study hall matched the math class and they are both awesome in math,” Panitzke said. Dominic Johnson and Makayla Lagerwall have been working with Jair Mejia-Dubon and Angel Dubon since November. Abby Heimkes was also working with Juan Sunun Perez but she has since been doing distance learning.
