Raymond Hahn

Raymond E. Hahn, age 89, of Gaylord, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Ridgeview Waconia Hospital in Waconia. Funeral service were held Friday, September 3, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sibley Township, Sibley County, Minnesota, with interment in the church cemetery. Clergy officiating was Pastor Scott Richards. Organist was Curt Kahle. Congregational hymns sung were “How Great Thou Art”, “On Eagle’s Wings”, and “Children Of The Heavenly Father.” Casket bearers were Steve Mehlhop Sr., Al Bussler, Calvin Quast, Duane Henke, Craig Quast, and Jonathon Schilling. Raymond is survived by his: wife, Marilyn Hahn of Gaylord, MN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Albertina Hahn; infant brother, Elmer; sisters, Bertha Goehl, Mabel Drennon and Elsie Bembenek; brothers, George E. Hahn, Martin R. Hahn, Rueben F. Hahn and Herman O. Hahn. Raymond Erwin Erich Hahn was born on January 18, 1932, in Sibley Township, Sibley County, Minnesota. He was the son of Herman Sr. and Albertina (Briest) Hahn. Raymond was baptized as an infant on March 20, 1932, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth on May 25, 1947, both at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley Township by Reverend Kuntz. He received his education at Country School District #9 in Sibley Township. On September 2, 1959, Raymond was united in marriage to Marilyn Alsleben at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn, Minnesota. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Sibley Township. He retired from farming in 2010, but they continued to live on the farm. Raymond was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley Township, the Men’s Club and a former member of the Church Council. Raymond enjoyed baking, making almond brittle, mechanical work, fixing things, farming and raising all livestock on the farm, especially sheep. He was a proud left hander, enjoyed camping at Rice Lake near Eden Valley, and attending the Pioneer Power Show where there were old engines, called hit and miss engines. He loved spending time with his wife and his friends. Raymond passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Ridgeview Waconia Hospital in Waconia. Blessed be his memory.
