With the retirement of Dave Schauer as Sibley County Attorney, Don Lannoye was appointed to fill out the remaining term of the position. At the beginning of the year, Schauer announced his retirement and Sibley County Board decided that an interview process and appointment would be needed to fill out the term. Four candidates were interviewed by a committee consisting of two commissioners, county administrator and human resources director in the summer. The committee recommended Lannoye and the County Board approved it in July. Schauer retired October 11 and the next day Lannoye was sworn in.
