Marion Tollefson

Marion Tollefson, age 91, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague, Minnesota. Memorial services will be December 28, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Norwegian Grove Lutheran Church, Sibley Township, Sibley County, Minnesota, with interment in the church cemetery. Gathering of family and friends will be from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m., All at the church. Clergy officiating Pastor Kyle Madson. Organist Janet Tollefson. Marion is survived by her: sisters-in-law, Ruth Olson of Gaylord, MN, and Mildred Johnson of Gaylord, MN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marion was preceded in death by her parents, Frank G. and Agnes Olson; husband, Clifford Tollefson in 1996; daughter, Patricia Ann in 1950; sister, Gladys Rasmussen; brothers, Marvin Olson, Donald W. Olson, Lloyd Olson, and Douglas Olson; sister-in-law, Marion Olson; and brother-In-Law, Holger Rasmussen. Marion Lorraine (Olson) Tollefson was born on June 14, 1930, in New Ulm, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Frank G. and Agnes (Tullgren) Olson. Marion was baptized as an infant at home by Pastor C.B.L. Boman and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on February 4, 1945, by Pastor O.E. Olman at Bernadotte Lutheran Church, Bernadotte Township, Nicollet County, Minnesota. She received her education at District #26 School in Nicollet County and was a 1948 graduate of the Winthrop High School. On August 22, 1948, Marion was united in marriage to Clifford Tollefson by Pastor O.T. Erickson, at the Bernadotte Parsonage. After their marriage, the couple lived in Kansas, while Clifford was in the Army. They moved to Gaylord in 1956. Marion was employed at the former Gaylord Hospital as an Aide for many years. Marion and Clifford were blessed with one daughter, Patricia Ann. Marion and Clifford shared 47 years of marriage before Clifford passed away on May 12, 1996. Marion was a member of Norwegian Grove Lutheran Church, Sibley Township. Marion enjoyed bowling, watching the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Lynx. She especially loved the time she spent with her family. When she needed assistance with her daily care, Marion became a resident of Oak Terrace Health Care in Gaylord in 2018, where she resided until her hospitalization on November 27. She remained at Mayo Clinic Heath Clinic until she passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at the age of 91 years. Blessed be her memory.
