Gibbon Royalty reflects on a busy fun-filled year

by Maggie Buettner

The community of Gibbon was blessed to be represented by Alexis Rettig and Brooklyn Werner for the past year as Gibbon royalty. Their most talked about actions were undeniably the flocking of flamingos. As a fundraiser from July through November, the flock of pink flamingoes were placed in sixty-one different yards by the royalty and committee. “I had such a blast sneaking around yards and trying to place the birds as quietly as possible” Alexis recalls. “The community was so amazing and enjoyed the fundraiser almost as much as we did. It was so funny to have people ask us where the flock will land next. I did not expect the fundraiser to be such a great activity to connect with the community!”
