Design for Lafayette’s Water Treatment Improvement Project starting to get finalized

The three options for reducing the hardness of the City’s water presented at the February meeting have basically been reduce to one—build a new building on the south side of Main Avenue. The decision has not been made yet, but Jeff Ledin and Simon McCormack of SEH asked for the Lafayette City Council to make a decision by the April meeting. The property that the City is considering is on the north edge of the former St. Gregory’s Catholic Church property. Utility and Maintenance Superintendent Allan Fox has had some preliminary conversation with property owner Lori Polz.
