A career fair will be held at GFW High School on Tuesday, May 17, beginning at 1:30 p.m. and conclude when the school day ends. The event is sponsored by the Fairfax EDA and Fairfax Chamber of Commerce. Businesses from the three GFW communities are encouraged to set up a booth at the fair. Jed Lutgen, one of the coordinators, said they were hoping to attract 20 businesses and said 19 have already signed up. Interested businesses can contact their respective city office for a registration form. “We feel that this could help the students as well as the local business owners,” Lutgen said. “This could connect kids with future jobs and help them to pick a career path. “It also gives businesses looking to recruit employees or express what they need in the community. We want to be able to retain our local kids so they stick around.
