GFW School Board holds work session on facilities
by Doug Hanson
The GFW School Board held a work session on Monday evening that drew a large crowd. A total of 23 people were part of the discussion on the planning for future facilities. That group included Board Directors Mike Kuehn, Jason Haas, Drew Schmidt and Dan Merkel. Also Superintendent Jeff Horton had his cabinet members (principals, activity director, head custodian, executive secretary, business manager, bookkeeper and more), plus three city administrators and four building experts that helped with the survey. The meeting was divided into three parts—long range facility plan, short term plan and special projects. The long range plan took about 60% of the two and a half hour meeting.
