City proposes contract to preserve school resource officer

The position of a school resource officer has been at GFW for over two decades. The GFW School Board is considering eliminating the position for the coming school year with the possibility of bring it back the following year. The City of Winthrop is the lead agency for the program. The Winthrop City Council approved a proposal in the hopes of saving the program and will submit it to the City of Gibbon, City of Fairfax and GFW Schools for approval.
