Independent School District GFW Public Schools July 18, 2022 Summary of regular school board meetings. Full text is available for public inspection at 323 East 11th Street, Gibbon, MN 55335. CALL TO ORDER The regular board meeting of the GFW Public School Board was held on July 18, 2022 at the Elementary School Gibbon, MN. Board Chair Kuehn called the meeting to order at 6:38 p.m. ALSO present: Superintendent Horton – Via Zoom, Principal Thompson, Food Service Walter, Principal Galetka, Prochniak, Press Busch, Steve Pumper – PMA, Tech Werner, Haas, Lee, Schmidt, Merkel – via Zoom, Press Hanson, students, community members, Mike Ho -Baird arrived at 6:50 p.m. Absent: None APPROVE AGENDA Haas moved with support from Prochniak to approve the agenda. Motion Carried. CONSENT AGENDA Haas moved with support from Prochniak to approve the following consent agenda. Motion Carried. APPROVAL OF RESOLUTIONS AND ACTION ITEM Minor Policy Modifications and Annual Reviews Kuehn moved with support from Lee to approve policies 410, 413, 414, 415, 506, 514, 522, 524, 616 and 806. Motion Carried. Bids for Milk/Juice and Fuel Schmidt moved with support from Prochniak to accept the milk/juice bid from Prairie Farms for the 2022-23 school year. Motion Carried. Prochniak moved with support from Kuehn to accept the fuel bid from United Farmers Coop. for fuel for the 2022-23 school year. Motion Carried. GFW Signage moved with support from to approve the two GFW signs as presented. Motion Merkel to table for next month with a second from Schmidt to get all the costs for installation. Motion Carried. School Calendar: Graduation Date/Time Change Schmidt moved with support from Lee to change the time from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. keeping graduation on June 3rd. Motion Carried. Fees & Rates Schedule 22-23 School Year Schmidt moved with support from Prochniak to approve the 22-23 Fees & Rates Schedule. Motion Carried. GFW Staff/School Board Rates 22-23 School Year Kuehn moved with support from Lee to approve the 22-23 GFW Staff/School Board Rates with the correction of the classified pay. Motion Carried. Resolution: Long Term Facilities and Maintenance (LTFM) Plan and Bonds Haas moved with support from Schmidt to adopt the LTFM and Bonds Resolution. Yes – Kuehn, Haas, Prochniak, Schmidt No – Lee, Merkel Motion Carried. Resolution: New GFW Public Schools Centrally Located PreK-12 Building with Municipal Hook-up in One or More Phases Haas moved with support from Prochniak to the Resolution of a New GFW Public Schools Centrally Located PreK-12 Building with Municipal Hook-up in One or More Phases. Yes – Lee, Kuehn, Prochniak, Haas No – Schmidt, Merkel Motion Carried. Fundraisers Lee moved with support from Schmidt to approve the fundraising requests for the 2022-23 School Year. Motion Carried. Additional Board Member Lee moved with support from Prochniak to table indefinitely, an at-large board member. Motion Carried. Resolution: Acceptance of Donations Kuehn moved with support from Schmidt to approve a $60.00 donation from Blackbaud/Ecolab Giving Fund Employer Donation and another $60.00 donation from Blackbaud/Ecolab Giving Fund Employer Donation.
