Filings closed for local offices

Filings for local offices closed on Tuesday, Aug. 16. In Winthrop, Rob Edwards remains the only candidate for mayor. The city council needs three positions filled and voters will have six choices. They include Megan Schmidt, Gordy Grank, Dawn Wickenhauser, Glen Steiner, Jennifer O’Connor and Brent Roiger. GFW School Board has a position available for each town. In Winthrop, Peter Schuckert, Nathan Loewy and Emilee Stehr will be on the ballot. Gibbon will have Casey Prochniak and Ken Briese while Fairfax will have Amy Acree. For the races in the City of Gibbon, Steve Klukas will be running for mayor. Filing for Gibbon City Council were Roger Tabbert and Rachel Holmquist. Lafayette will have its incubents running with Sandie Peterson for mayor and Tom Polich and Dave Reed for city council.
