GFW School Board hears update on new technology offerings

by Doug Hanson

The GFW School Board held its regular September meeting last Monday with a light agenda. Superintendent Jeff Horton welcomed the new staff coming into the District and then turn the meeting over to Technology Director Wade Werner for an update. Werner stated that he was excited to say that GFW is offering top notch technology courses that are usually only found in the metro area. The first offering was called TransfrVR, that is hands-on simulations delivering customized experiences that would be needed to enter a career. The offerings include how to change oil, try painting, welding and much more. Werner stated that the District has 15 sets of goggles to use.
