Independent School District GFW Public Schools September 19, 2022 Summary of regular school board meetings. Full text is available for public inspection at 323 East 11th Street, Gibbon, MN 55335. CALL TO ORDER The regular board meeting of the GFW Public School Board was held on September 19, 2022 at the Elementary School Gibbon, MN. Board Clerk Lee called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. ALSO present: Superintendent Horton, Marisa Lee, Drew Schmidt, Jeff Merkel, Casey Prochniak, parents, staff Absent: Haas, Kuehn APPROVE AGENDA Schmidt moved with support from Prochniak to approve the agenda. Motion Carried. CONSENT AGENDA Prochniak moved with support from Schmidt to approve the following consent agenda. Motion Carried. APPROVAL OF RESOLUTIONS AND ACTION ITEM Preliminary Levy Certification for Taxes Payable 2023 Prochniak moved with support from Schmidt to approve the preliminary levy certification for taxes payable. Motion Carried. Resolution: Acceptance of Donations Schmidt moved with support from Merkel to approve a $100.00 donation from Gwen Ruff for the TCA, $100.00 donation from Ray & Karen Klenk for the TCA, $100.00 donation from Laurie Larson for the TCA, $130.00 donation from Dale & Avis Klukas in memory of Edie Doerr for elementary classrooms, $300.00 from Kathleen Horan in memory of Edie Doerr for elementary classrooms, $180.40 donation from Zoetis Industry for the FFA, $32.22 from Coborn’s for the middle school, $60.00 donation from Blackbaud/Ecolab Giving Fund Employer Donation and a $500.00 donation from Dylan Rose, 3M Volunteer Match for HS Football. Yes – Merkel, Schmidt, Prochniak, Lee No – None Motion Carried. EXECUTIVE (CLOSED) SESSION The Open Meeting Law, Minnesota Statute section 13D.05, subdivision 3(a), states that the School Board may close a meeting for the purpose of discussing the superintendent’s performance evaluation. Schmidt moved with support from Merkel to close the regular board meeting at 7:09 p.m. Motion Carried. Prochniak moved with support from Merkel to open the closed session at 7:14 p.m. Motion Carried. Merkel moved with support from Prochniak to close the closed session at 8:06 p.m. Motion Carried. Prochniak moved with support from Schmidt to reopen the regular board meeting at 8:09 p.m. Motion Carried. ADJOURNMENT Schmidt moved with support from Merkel to adjourn at 8:10 p.m. Motion Carried. Notice to the Public The Sibley County Auditor-Treasurer will be conducting tests of the precinct tabulating equipment (DS200s) that will be used to count the votes cast for all candidates to be voted on at the November 8, 2022 State General Election in Sibley County and tests of the assistive voting devices (AutoMARKs) that will be available as an optional ballot marker to assist voters to vote privately and independently at the November 8, 2022 State General Election in Sibley County. These tests are open to the public and will be held at the Sibley County Courthouse Basement on Tuesday, October 25 at 6:00 p.m. and Thursday, October 27 at 9:00 a.m. and again at 6:00 p.m. Marilee Peterson Sibley County Auditor-Treasurer 3c
