Pierson reflects on years of public service

After a stint on Winthrop City Council and two more as Winthrop Mayor, Kelly Pierson decided to hang up his political hat and retire from public service. Pierson was appointed to the city council in 1987 and served for the next 11 years. He served as mayor in 1998-99. After taking 15 years off. He ran again for mayor and has served the City of Winthrop in that capacity for the past eight years.
