LaDonna “Donna” Shult, age 89, of Winthrop passed away Friday, March 3, 2023, at the Lodge in Winthrop. Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 11, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop with interment in the Winthrop Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, March 10, 2023, from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. and will continue one hour prior to the service, ALL at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop. Memorials preferred to God’s Treasures Child Care, Zion Lutheran Church, Winthrop, Minnesota.
Clergy officiating will be Reverend Paul Meitner.
Organist will be Vicki Kiecker.
Soloist will be Mark Jaeger, “Go My Children, With My Blessing” and Reverend Paul Meitner, 2nd Verse “Behold, A Host Arrayed In White.”
Congregational hymns will be “Lord Take My Hand And Lead Me”, “Day By Day”, “Behold, and A Host Arrayed In White.”
Honorary casket bearers will be Kristin Blomquist, Meghan Doyle, and Lauren Shult.

Donna is survived by her: children, Steven Shult and his wife, Jolene of Duluth, MN, Douglas Shult and his wife, Laurie of Mankato, MN, and Brian Shult and his wife, Nancy of Hudson, WI; grandchildren, Kristin Blomquist and her husband, Daniel of Corcoran, MN, Matthew Shult and his wife, Sarah of Stacy, MN, Nathan Shult and his wife, Ashley of New Market, MN, Meghan Doyle and her husband, Eathan of Mahtomedi, MN, Benjamin Shult and his wife, Kristina of River Falls, WI, Wade Shult and his wife, Leah of Livonia, MI, Lauren Shult of Hudson, WI: great-grandchildren, Ana Leppänen and her husband, Timo; Bailey Erickson and her husband, Justin, Levi, Sofi, Silas, Jens and Francine Blomquist, Troy, Katherine, Theodore, Evangeline and Emmett Shult, Julia and Holly Doyle; sister, Dianne Wolff and her husband, Robert; sister-in-law, Fern Shult; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Shult; son, Bradley Shult; parents, LaRoy and Alma Bode; great-granddaughter, Effie Blomquist; Brother, Virgil Bode and his wife, Evelyn; Nephews, Craig Wolff and Mark Shult; brother-in-law, Duane Shult; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alfred and Mary Shult.
LaDonna “Donna” Jean Shult was born on August 8, 1933, in Nicollet, Minnesota. She was the daughter of LaRoy and Alma (Dallmann) Bode. Donna was baptized as an infant on August 13, 1933, by Pastor Koehler, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on March 30, 1947, by Pastor E. Schaller, both at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nicollet. She received her education at Trinity Lutheran Parochial School in Nicollet and was a graduate of the Nicollet High School Class of 1951.
On April 18, 1953, Donna was united in marriage to Troy Shult at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nicollet, Minnesota, by Pastor E. Schaller. After their marriage, they made their home in Winthrop. From 1989-1994, they owned and operated “Goldworks Jewelry Store” in the Madison East Mall in Mankato, Minnesota, with their son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Laurie Shult. Donna worked at Reese’s Town and Country Store for 17 years, and later at Hands, Inc. in Winthrop, Minnesota. They were blessed with four sons. They shared 61 years of marriage, when Troy passed away on February 9, 2015.
Donna was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop. She was an active member of the Ladies Guild, attended Young at Heart, and a member of the Winthrop Senior Citizens group.
Donna enjoyed gardening and canning, baking, fishing, and playing cards. She especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In March of 2021, Donna moved to The Lodge of Winthrop. While at The Lodge, Donna made many great friends among the residents and staff alike.
The Lord called Donna to her eternal home on Friday, March 3, 2023, having granted her a time of grace of 89 years, six months, and 23 days.
