CALL TO ORDER
The regular board meeting of the GFW Public School Board was held on February 21, 2023 at the Elementary School Gibbon, MN. Chair Merkel called the meeting to order at 6:37 p.m.
ALSO present: Superintendent Dr. Horton, Tech Werner, Stehr, Schmidt, Briese, Acree, students, parents, Haas
Absent: None
APPROVE AGENDA
Stehr moved with support from Schmidt to remove elementary presentation from the agenda. Motion Carried.
Schmidt moved with support from Briese to approve the agenda as amended. Motion Carried.
CONSENT AGENDA
Stehr moved with support from Schmidt to approve the following consent agenda Motion
APPROVAL OF RESOLUTIONS AND ACTION ITEM
Resolution : Election Judges
Haas moved with support from Briese to approve the election judges for the April 11, 2023 Building Referendum Election.
Yes – Stehr, Schmidt, Merkel, Haas, Briese, Acree
No – None Motion Carried.
Board Meeting Technology
Haas moved with support from Acree to direct Mr. Werner to look into new technology for future board meetings. Motion Carried.
Grow Your Own Memorandum of Understanding
Schmidt moved with support from Haas to approve the MOU from the GFW Unified Education Association. Motion Carried.
Resolution: Absentee Ballot Board
Haas moved with support from Stehr to accept the Absentee Ballot Board for the April 11, 2023 Building Referendum Election.
Yes – Merkel, Stehr, Haas, Briese, Acree, Schmidt
No – None Motion Carried.
Resolution: Acceptance of Donations
Schmidt moved with support from Briese to approve a $14.40 donation from Casey’s Loyalty Donation for the the high school, $100.00 donation from Peace Lutheran Church, for the T-Bird Club and $100.00 from B & R Dairy, for the 2023 HS Prom.
Yes – Briese, Stehr, Haas, Acree, Schmidt, Merkel
No – None Motion Carried.

Schmidt moved with support from Haas to adjourn at 7:51 p.m. Motion Carried.

NOTICE OF
Charter Commission
Pursuant to Minn. Stat. 475.705, subd. 1, the “Open Meeting Law”, you are hereby notified that the Charter Commission has scheduled their annual Charter Commission meeting on Monday, April 18, 2023, at 5:00 pm in the City Council Chambers, 305 N. Main Street, Winthrop. The public is welcome to attend this meeting.
This meeting was originally schedule in February, but due to a snow storm was cancelled.

Important Information
Regarding Assessment and Classification of Property
This may affect your 2024 property tax payments
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Appeal and Equalization of Alfsborg Township shall meet on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at the Alfsborg Town Hall. The purpose of this meeting is to determine whether taxable property in the jurisdiction has been properly valued and classified by the assessor, and also to determine whether corrections need to be made.
If you believe the value or classification of your property is incorrect, please contact your assessor’s office to discuss your concerns. If you are still not satisfied with the valuation of classification after discussing it with your assessor, you may appear before the local board of appeal and equalization. The board shall review the valuation, classification, or both if necessary, and shall correct it as needed. Generally, an appearance before your local board of appeal and equalization is required by law before an appeal can be taken to your county board of appeal and equalization.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING PROPERTY ASSESSMENTS
This may affect your 2024 property taxes.
The Board of Appeal and Equalization for the City of Lafayette in Nicollet County, Minnesota will meet County Chambers, 791 Main Ave. at 6:30 pm on Monday the 10th day of April 2023. The purpose of this meeting is to determine whether property in the jurisdiction has been properly valued and classified by the assessor.
If you believe the value or classification of your property is incorrect, please contact your assessor’s office to discuss your concerns. If you disagree with the valuation or classification after discussing it with your assessor, you may appear before the local board of appeal and equalization. The board will review your assessments and may make corrections as needed. Generally, you must appeal to the local board before appealing to the county board of appeal and equalization.

Grams, at 24799 501st Ave., Winthrop, MN 55396. The purpose of this meeting is to determine whether taxable property in the jurisdiction has been properly valued and classified by the assessor, and also to determine whether corrections need to be made.
If you believe the value or classification of your property is incorrect, please contact your assessor’s office to discuss your concerns. NOTICE OF GRAVEL BIDS
Notice is hereby given that the Town Board of Bismarck Township, Sibley County, will accept bids for 5,000 cubic yards, more or less, of Class 5 or better gravel until 7 P.M. on Monday, April 10th, 2023 when the bids will be opened at the regular township meeting.
Bids will be accepted for any of the following:
1.The whole Township
2. Only the North Half (North of County Road #10)
3. Only the South Half (South of County Road #10)
The bid is to include the name and location of the pit, the cost of the gravel, loading and hauling and is to be delivered NO LATER THAN JULY 31.
Also, if there is a fuel surcharge, please list this separately.
All bids must be accompanied by a certified check in the amount of 5% of the bid, and a Certificate of Insurance for Workmen’s Compensation and Employer’s Liability Coverage.
The gravel is to be delivered according to Gravel Maps that will be furnished by the Township.
The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularities, and to award the bid in the best interest of the Township.

Notice to the Public
The Sibley County Auditor-Treasurer on behalf of GFW Public Schools ISD #2365 will be conducting tests of the precinct tabulating equipment (DS200s) that will be used to count the votes cast for questions to be voted on at the April 11, 2023 GFW ISD #2365 School Special Election and tests of the assistive voting devices (OmniBallot) that will be available as an optional ballot marker to assist voters to vote privately and independently at the April 11, 2023 GFW ISD #2365 School Special Election.
These tests are open to the public and will be held at the Sibley County Courthouse Basement in Gaylord on Thursday, March 30, at 6:30 p.m.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a speical election has been called and will be held in and for Independent School Distict No. 2365 (GFW Public Schools), Minnesota, on April 11, 2023, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. to vote on the following questions:

Approval of School Building Bonds
7-12 Centrally Located School Building
Shall the board of Independent School Distict No. 2365 (GFW Public School), Minnesota be authorized to issue general obligation school building bonds in an amount not to exceed $55,000,000 for acquistiton and betterment of school sites and faciliites including, but not limited to, the construction of a 7-12 school building centrally located within the District?
