Rodnings win Mirror Ball Trophy at 2B Continued event

For the second year in a row, a couple with Winthrop ties was victorious in the Dance Like The Stars competition.
Steph and McCoy Rodning joined last year’s champions Katie and Jessie Gran as winners of the Mirror Ball Trophy. The event is hosted by 2B Continued.
Dancing Like the Stars is the major fundraiser for 2B Continued, a charity dedicated to increase awareness of suicide prevention, mental health and wellness.
Steph said she received a text message in November from Tammy Diehn, founder of 2B Continued, asking if the Rodnings would be interested in participating.
A college buddy and fellow athlete from Southwest Minnesota State committed suicide and is why the Rodnings felt compelled to join the dance. McCoy’s friend left school early to join the Marine Corps, was deployed twice and on returning from the second tour committed suicide in 2021.
