Gibbon Council discusses city’s future with school being built by 2025
by Doug Hanson
“What is the city looking at in the future”, asked City Administrator Dana Lietzau. “If the city is planning a development, where would it go….probably on the south side.”
Representatives of the school asked the City Council to discuss where they would like the school. Lietzau had invited ISG Engineer Bryan Petzel to the meeting. GFW Board Directors Jason Haas and Amy Acree decided to attend the meeting to listen.
The Council talked about two properties—one on the north of Highway 19, just north of the former Gibbon Ballroom and the other one on the south edge of Gibbon, just south of 290 Street with access from Clark Avenue.
Lietzau had requested a proposal for a long-term financial management plan from Ehlers for annexing property, installing a road and utilities to serve those properties.
