Gibbon Funfest this weekend
The festivities begin Thursday at 5 p.m. with the Business Appreciation on Main Street followed by Custom Made Band at 7 p.m at Whit Wort Brewing Co.
City-Wide Garage Sales also run from Thursday-Saturday.
Show off you pinball skills on Friday 2 p.m.-10 p.m. at Whit Wort.
Several event kick off at 6 p.m. at there will be a co-ed sand volleyball tournament, Gibbon Reds Community Kickball game, kids sidewalk chalk fun, piet social and hot sandwiches, wacky hairdos and art in the park and music in the park presented by Gibbon Area Uncommon Band of Renown.
There will be a kid and adult drawings in the park at 8:15 p.m. with sign up in the band shelter.
Music by Some Shitty Cover Band will begin at 8:30 p.m. in the city park.
At about 10 p.m. come out and enjoy the fireworks.
Kids bounce houses and Kono’s ring toss will be taking place Friday 5 p.m. – 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
The wiffle ball tournament begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The teams have four people. There will be two pool play games followed by a double elimination bracket.
The Funfest craft and vendor fair will begin at 10 a.m. They will be open again at noon on Sunday.
McGowan Field will be host to the Summer Rec T-Ball game at 10 a.m. as well.
Many events will be getting underway at 11 a.m. The Kids Medallion hunt starts it off with clues being posted in the park.
Shooters Bar will be conducting a cornhole tournament at 11 a.m. with a maximum of 16 teams.
Cabby’s Coner will have a quilt display on Main Street until 3 p.m.
For those interested in playing BINGO, come to the white tent at 11 a.m.
Immanuel Lutheran Church will be having kids crafts, face painting and balloons in the park as well.
Make sure the kids come out for the pedal pull at 11:30 a.m. Registration begins a half hour before the event in the park.
The pinball wizard competition at Whit Worts continued at noon.
The GFW High School band will be performing in the park beginning at 12:30 p.m.
Gibbon Fire and Rescue will be giving fire truck rides, kids water activities and a R3 demonstration beginning at 1 p.m.
Dain’s Dutchmen will provide entertainment in the park from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The Royal Rumble kickball game take to McGowan Field at 3 p.m.
The ninth annual adult Tippy Cup challenge begins at 5 p.m. This year it includes a bounce house obstacle course. Registration begins at 4:30 p.m.
The action moves to Main Street for the evening as 2nd Notion takes the stage at 8:30 p.m. for the street dance.
Sunday begins with a Gibbon Worship Service in the Park at 10 a.m.
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Gibbon Lions will be having a pork chop dinner in the park shelter.
Providing entertainment during that time with to the Leon Olsen Show.
Check out the classic cars from noon to 3 p.m.
The co-ed bean bag tournament begins at 1 p.m. with registration beginning at 12:30 p.m.
The Gibbon Area Uncommon Band of Renown hits the park again to entertain at 2:45 p.m.
The classic car show concludes at 3 p.m. but they will make way along Main Street for a parade.
The Gibbon Reds host Searles at McGowan Field at 4 p.m.
After the game there will be a kids bike drawing and adult prizes as well. You must be present to win.
The evening’s events conclude with musical chairs at 7:30 p.m.
