Lafayette Council approves Lions playground improvement plan

by Doug Hanson
The Lafayette Lions would like to upgrade the playground equipment in the Lafayette City Park. The problem is the equipment is grandfathered in and if a couple pieces are replaced, all the equipment has to be up to current safety compliance rules.
To update all of the equipment, the cost would be approximately $110,000. Since the Lions would like to have the project done by the 125th Anniversary and they can not cash flow that amount, they asked the Lafayette City Council for help.
