GFW cross country team off to a great start

The GFW Thunderbird girls cross country team has placed second in its two meets this year.
GFW opened the season at Mankato Loyola and finished second to Maple River.
Mady Steele led the T-Birds with a time of 21 minutes 58 seconds which earned her fourth place overall. Ashley Vos was next for GFW with a time of 22:53 which put her in 11th place while Kelly Willegal was 18th in a time of 24:19. Rounding out the T-Bird squad were Abby Willegal at 24:30, Kelby Bruns 24:36 and Taylor Bauer at 26:12.
On September 12 at Baylor Park in Norwood Young America, GFW was again second, finishing behind Sibley East in the 13-team race.
Steele again was the T-Birds’ fastest runner, placing ninth in a time of 20:25. Bruns was next at 22:29 and Abby Willegal was close behind at 22:49. Vos would come in at 23:02 with Kelly Willegal three seconds behind that and Bauer 24:21.
