Santa to highlight Christmas in the Country

Saturday will be a fun-packed day for people of all ages as Winthrop hosts its annual Christmas in the Country.
For those who are crafty, the day starts out with Mimosas and Mistletoes at Tanker Bay. The event begins at 10 a.m. and lasts until noon. At 10 a.m. people can make their own ornament ring and at 11 a.m. they can make a yarn tree on wood. There are fees associated with this event.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., check out the vendor fair and food trucks at Hahn’s Dining and Lounge. Momma Maria’s, B-Lo Zero Sno Cones & Mini Donuts, Brick House Meats, The Lucky Lemon and Kettle Corn stand will be among the food trucks. Enjoy some time outside with friends by the fire pits.
The Lodge of Winthrop is hosting a Sip & See from noon to 2 p.m. as you can sip on some hot cider and vote for your favorite Christmas tree.
The Winthrop General Federation of Women’s Club will be holding a bake sale at the Winthrop Public Library from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The kid’s fun begins at 3 p.m. and lasts until 5 p.m. as Santa and Mrs. Claus will be greeting the youngsters at Winthrop City Hall. In addition to meeting the red-clad duo, kids will also get to participate in cookie decorating, crafts and a hot chocolate bar.
Dinner and s’mores will be hosted by the Transit Trailblazers 4-H Club 4 p.m.-7 p.m. at the Winthrop Fire Barn. There will be a free-will dinner consisting of Ambassador hotdogs, a bag of chips, cookie and either hot chocolate or water. Check out the Clydesdale horses, eat S’mores with the Winthrop Police Department and visit with special Disney themed guests.
The evening concludes with Reindeer Games at Tanker Bay beginning at 7 p.m. Teams will be made up of two people with five bar games being played.
