Winthrop Council has new look

by Michael Mattison
The Winthrop City Council has a new mayor and two new council members after its regular December meeting held on Wednesday.
Megan Schmidt gave her resignation at the last Council meeting and Mayor Rob Edwards gave his resignation on Wednesday evening. The City Council approved those resignations on Wednesday.
Julie Trebelhorn, who had served as Council President, also gave her resignation from the Council at the meeting, which allowed her to be appointed mayor.
Wanda Renner and Kelly Pierson were appointed to the vacant Council positions. All three were approved unanimously.
