Water Tower bids received by Gibbon City Council
by Doug Hanson
Bids for the water tower construction for the City of Gibbon came in a little lower than estimated. Maguire Iron, Inc. bid $1,889,000 for the project. The other two bids were for $2,090,880 and $2,259,000. ISG engineer Bryan Petzel stated that their estimate was $2,200,000.
The bids were opened on May 28th with the City Council expected to approve a bid at its July 7th meeting. First the City has to finalize the purchase of the property for the tower and the approval of the grant/loan from Public Finance Authority (PFA) needs to be received. That approval was expected in June.
