Contentious public forum led off Council meeting
by Michael Mattison
Time for public forum is always allotted at the beginning of each Winthrop City Council regular meeting and October’s was no different. Several people showed up and voiced numerous concerns.
Dr. David Bengtson was the first to approach the City Council and conveyed his concern on the new sidewalks and planters that will be soon added to the Second Street project.
He requested that planters not be placed in front of his office as they would become obstructions during the winter and could cause someone to be injured.
For the rest of the story, check out the October 16 issue of the Winthrop News.

No gov. entity should be allowed to force crap like these planters in front of any business if they do not want them. And they should not be allowed to force the planting of trees or putting sidewalks across home properties. Period.
And the planters and the CRAP put in them are a waste of Tax Money which u do not have the authority to waste like that
