GIBBON PUBLIC
NOTICE
The City of Gibbon is requesting public comments on the potential environmental impact of a proposed water tower construction project. The project will be located in the City of Gibbon, Minnesota, S2 T112N R31W, on a portion of 640 11th Street.
The City’s existing tower requires significant improvements to meet current safety standards and to replace the existing failing coating system which likely consists of lead-based paint. Due to this, it was decided to construct a new water tower. The project will consist of the demolition of the existing tower and construction of the new tower at the chosen site alternative.
The city intends to finance the project with a low interest loan from the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority (PFA). Funds are being requested through the drinking water revolving fund which is administered by the PFA and the Minnesota Department of Health. To receive funds an environmental review must be conducted in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969.
We invite you to submit your comments to Bryan Petzel at [email protected] by 5:00 PM on July 30, 2026.
