Reed named Melvin Jones recipient by Lafayette Lions

Dave Reed was named a Melvin Jones Fellow and was recognized at the annual awards program of the Lafayette Area Lions Tuesday, July 14, at the Lafayette Community Center. Reed is the club’s 34th recipient of the award.
Lions Mark Dick and Trish Gieseke and friend Dave Sellnow spoke of Reed’s Lions and community involvement during the awards program.
Dick outlined Reed’s community involvement that covers a wide range of activities. He is the Lions’ gambling manager and is a former club treasurer. Dave is a Lafayette City Council member for 11 years, was an active member of the New Ulm Jaycees; has been a New Ulm youth basketball, football and soccer coach; and has coached and umpired youth baseball in Lafayette.
