Bars and restaurants get assistance from city for outside service
On June 1, bars and restaurants around the State of Minnesota were allowed to serve its customers outdoors. In preparation for the opening, the Winthrop City Council held special meetings on Tuesday and Friday to figure out what it could do to help their businesses out. Tuesday’s meeting had plenty of discussion on things that would be beneficial for the businesses to conduct business. This allowed the businesses time to come up with a plan to submit to City Administrator Jenny Palmer. The plans were needed in order to amend their current liquor licenses. The meetings also made it possible for the businesses to be ready to serve their customers on June 1.
