CALL TO ORDER The regular board meeting of the GFW School Board was held on March 16, 2021 at the Elementary School Gibbon, MN. Board Chair, Kuehn called the meeting to order at 6:38 pm.. This date is a change due to weather. Motion Carried. Letter read by Member Merkel – We need to look at consolidating with neighboring districts that have more offerings for students. Response to Consolidation Interest from BOLD Merkel moved with support from Haas that the Superintendent of GFW Schools maintain contact with BLH and BOLD for future shared course offerings or any other means advancing other opportunities together and no consolidation at this time but an open line of communication. Motion Carried. Adoption of Certified Seniority List Lee moved with support from Schmidt to adopt the Certified Seniority List. Motion Carried. Adoption of Classified Seniority List Merkel moved with support from Prochniak to adopt the Classified Seniority List. Motion Carried. Adoption of Transportation Seniority List Lee moved with support from Prochniak to adopt the Transportation Seniority List. Motion Carried. Resolution Reducing Educational Programs and Positions Tabled until Monday, March 19th, 2021, 6:30pm in Gibbon. Resolution: Non-Renewing Probationary Teachers Tabled until Monday, March 19th, 2021, 6:30pm in Gibbon. Resolution: Placement of a Continuing Contract/Tenured Teacher on Unrequested Leave of Absence Tabled until Monday, March 19th, 2021, 6:30pm in Gibbon. Resolution: Donations Schmidt moved with support from Prochniak to accept the donation of $170.00 from the Winthrop Chamber for staff appreciation bags and $500.00 from Zack Rose/3M VolunteerMatch. Board Chair Kuehn called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. Also present: Superintendent Horton, Tech Coordinator Werner, Lee, Schmidt, Prochniak, District Accountant Burns, Principal Thompson, ECFE Coordinator Schiro, Principal Galetka, Business Manager Heine, Community Ed Coordinator Pierson, Haas, Merkel, Cultural Liaison Zendejas, Press Busch, Press Bonsack, Student Representative Peterson Absent: None Haas moved with support from Prochniak to approve the agenda.
