Independent School District GFW Public Schools June 21, 2021 Summary of regular school board meeting. Full text is available for public inspection at 323 East 11th Street, Gibbon, MN 55335. CALL TO ORDER The regular board meeting of the GFW School Board was held on June 21, 2021 at the Elementary School Gibbon, MN. Board Chair Kuehn called the meeting to order at 6:40 pm. ALSO present: Superintendent Horton, District Accountant Burns, Press Hanson, Business Manager Heine, Merkel, Lee, Schmidt, Prochniak, staff, Press Busch Absent: Haas APPROVE AGENDA Prochniak moved with support from Lee to approve the agenda with the wording change on the Consent Agenda, to go from Furlough to Layoff, addition on the Consent Agenda of increased hours of paraprofessionals, the addition on the Consent Agenda of the Tyler Software Service Agreement and remove donations as there are none. Motion Carried. CONSENT AGENDA Kuehn moved with support from Prochniak to approve the following consent agenda. Motion Carried. APPROVAL OF RESOLUTIONS AND ACTION ITEMS Q-Comp End of Year Report – Amy Bastian Kuehn moved with support from Kuehn to accept the Q-Comp Report as presented. Motion Carried. New Policies (2nd Reading) 503 Student Attendance 506 Student Discipline 511 Fundraising 516 Student Medication 525 Violence Prevention 529 Staff Notification of Violent Behavior by Student 530 Immunization Requirements 533 Wellness 534 Unpaid Meal Charge Schmidt moved with the support from Lee to approve New Policies 503, 506, 511, 516, 525, 529, 530, 533, 534. M Motion Carried Resolution: MSHSL 2021-2022 Membership Kuehn moved with support from Lee to approve the MSHSL membership. Yes – Prochniak, Schmidt, Lee, Kuehn, Merkel No – None Motion Carried. Approval of Identified Official with Authority (IOwA) Approval of Identified Official with Authority (IOwA) – The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) requires that school districts annually designate an Identified Official with Authority to comply with State Access Control Security Standard 1.), which states that all user access rights to Minnesota state systems must be reviewed and recertified at least annually. The Identified Official with Authority will assign job duties and authorize external user’s access to MDE secure systems for their local education agency (LEA). Lee moved with support from Schmidt to authorize the recommendation of Jeff Horton to act as the Identified Official with Authority for GFW 2365-01. Motion Carried. Fuel and Milk/Juice Bids Kuehn moved with the support from Prochniak to go out for fuel and milk/juice bids.. Motion Carried. Fiscal Year 21 Revised Budget Schmidt moved with the support from Prochniak to accept the Fiscal Year 21 Revised Budget. Motion Carried. Fiscal Year 22 Proposed Budget Schmidt moved with the support from Lee to accept the Fiscal Year 22 Proposed Budget. Motion Carried.
