It’s finally open

Highway 19 east of Winthrop is finally open. Paving was done this  past week and the detour was removed at about 5 p.m. Friday.

MnbDot said motorists will encounter temporary shoulder closures in this area until guardrail is installed in early November.  Drivers should be alert for lane restrictions, watch for flaggers, and expect brief delays during the installation of the guardrail.

The replacement of the Highway 19 box culvert in Winthrop was postponed until 2023 due to unanticipated soil conditions. MnDOT is determining additional actions needed to install the box culvert which will occur next year.
