Winthrop looking to hire part-time library personnel

The City of Winthrop’s request to the Sibley County Library Board for hiring part-time employees for the city library before the switch from county-run to city-run libraries in December was met with a bit of controversy at Wednesday’s Library Board meeting. Until December 10, library employees throughout the county are employed by Sibley County. The Sibley County Library Board indicated that they had no problem with the Winthrop hiring additional part-time library staff as the current staff would still be paid by the county.
