Hanson leads flag retirement for Eagle Scout project

by Maggie Buettner

Trevor Hanson joined the Boy Scouts six years ago at the age of twelve. He’s part of Troop 2 which currently has members from Winthrop, Gibbon, Lafayette, and surrounding areas. During these years he has earned almost sixty merit badges. The hardest to earn have been the wilderness and survival badges. He enjoyed earning a badge for kayaking. His favorite adventure he went on with his troop was going to Camp Cayuna in Crosslake, Minnesota. He stated “what was awesome about it was I got to explore and learn a lot about things I never knew.” He enjoys spending quality time with his dad, who is a leader with the scouts, and being with the other scouts. He hopes to become a scout master in the future.
