Lafayette Little Learners waiting to open

by Ruth Klossner
“Staff is what I need—I have the kids,” Alyssa Besemer said in regards to a possible opening date for Lafayette Little Learners.
Besemer has been working hard to get the former Lafayette Charter School ready for its next “life” as a children’s center. She has MOST of the staff in place, but needs two more lead teachers so that she can set that opening date.
Alyssa needs to find lead teachers for the pre-school and school age classrooms but has found that difficult, in spite of posting everywhere she can think of, including ZipRecruiter and Indeed.
Already in place are the lead teachers for the infant and toddler rooms, aides for all four rooms (infant, toddler, pre-school, and school age), as well as assistant teachers and a few floaters for aides.
