CALL TO ORDER
The regular board meeting of the GFW Public School Board was held on September 23, 2024 at the Elementary School Gibbon, MN. Chair Merkel called the meeting to order at 6:01, p.m.
ALSO present: Superintendent Smith, Tech Werner, Grosam, Briese, Miller, Buildings, Grounds & Safety Weir, Principal Thompson, Merkel, Stehr, Press Hanson, Lenae Schoen – Wold, Dustin Kempf, Gary Benson, Brian Johnson – KA, Turtle, Press Busch

Grosam moved with support from Stehr to approve the agenda. Motion Carried.

RESOLUTIONS AND ACTION ITEMS
Acceptance of Donations
Miller moved with support from Grosam to accept the donation of $5000 from the GFW Athletic Boosters for the new scoreboard, $250 from the Wendell Buerkle Memorial for TCA, $100 from Laurie Larson for TCA and $100 from the Winthrop General Federation of Women’s Club for MS/HS Art Class.

Approve Preliminary 24 Pay 25 Property Tax Levy
Turtle moved with support from Grosam to approve the maximum recommended Preliminary 24 Pay 25 Property Tax Levy. Motion Carried.
Approve New GFW Logos
Miller moved with support from Stehr to approve the Logos as presented. Motion Carried.
Review and Approve Fire Pump Related Change Order Request
Briese moved with support from Miller to approve the Fire Pump Related Change Order with a maximum cost of $57,000. Motion Carried.

Turtle moved with support from Grosam to adjourn at 6:51 p.m. Motion Carried.

a. Team Works – Ray Queener will be present to discuss the board self-evaluation survey and lead a board development training session

NOTICE OF HEARING
At the council meeting on Monday, October 14, 2024, the Lafayette City Council, serving as the Board of Adjustments and Appeals, has called for a Public Hearing set for Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 7:00 PM to be held in the Council Chambers at 791 Main Avenue, Lafayette, MN 56054.
The purpose of this hearing is for the consideration of a requested zone change submitted by John Upton, the current owner for the (church) property at 400 6th Street, Lafayette for the rezoning of this property from Commercial to Residential. This notification is required by City Code 151.155.
If you have any comments, questions, concerns or objections, you are requested to submit them in writing to the city clerk, or you can attend in person.
