A closer look at PreK-12 facility construction

Construction on the new GFW facility continues to progress in spite of extreme cold weather in February. While work on the exterior of the building came to a halt during this cold spell, many workers were inside keeping the construction momentum going with a variety of different projects.
Once areas of the building have a roof deck in place, heat is usually able to begin. Currently there is a roof deck plus all insulation and roofing membrane in place over the southern half of the building which is the elementary wing, the MS/HS wing, and the office area located between the two wings. With the good weather this past week, much of the roof decking, insulation and roof membrane have been installed on the gym roof with completion of this area expected by March 5. No heat is on in this large space right now, but it will soon be ready.
