by Michael Mattison
The Winthrop City Council approved proceeding with construction documents for the fire hall expansion along with involving the financial advisor and proceeding with the bonding request for the preliminary amount of $4.5 million.
Construction documents are needed to proceed with application for USDA funding. City Administrator Michael Looft felt the cost would be between $150,000-$300,000. The CapX account could be used to pay for this step. Those documents are expected to be completed June 1.
The total estimate cost of the building would be $3.9 million.
